| URGENT: Schapelle's Failing Health |
|
|
Schapelle is in a SERIOUS state of health, and action is required URGENTLY.
Please consider for a moment how long YOU might have withstood the horrors of what she has endured. She has not only existed in CONDITIONS YOU CAN BARELY IMAGINE for the last five years, but as an innocent girl has had to endure the mental torture of:
- the trauma of a show trial and media circus in which her human rights were abused throughout
- the brutal political sentence - facing up to never having kids, and suffering for longer than murderers, rapists and terrorists
- the death of her father from cancer who she had promised to nurse to the end
- a sentence reduction to 15 years... to then be cruelly increased back to 20 years
- the media persecution of her loved ones
- incidents like having guards suddenly appear in the dark of night, without warning, to drag her back from hospital to her filthy cell (the media having been forewarned)
- and so very very much more.....
How would YOU cope with even a tiny fraction of that? How long could you cling on to hope? How long could you cling on to your sanity?
A CANDLE FLICKERING
Schapelle has remained so strong for so long: holding on day after day in hope and belief that justice and truth would prevail. Bewildered, confused, but keeping faith in humanity and clinging desperately to past memories and the love of her family.
But year on year it has become harder and harder, as her mental strength has been worn down. Freedom is so far away that it is not even on the radar, yet she has been in the squalid overcrowded unbearable heat of that cell for what will seem like an absolute eternity.
She has passed the point of being able to endure or bear any more. Past the point of being able to hold herself together any longer.
THE REPORTS
The reports emerging recently are heartbreakingly true. She has been heavily sedated for a long time, to try to keep her superficially in one piece, but what is inside her is clearly an agony which cannot be imagined.
"At one stage she sat on the floor with my daughter's stuffed frog that plays tunes and she was there holding it for 90 minutes without moving."
"She thinks she can hop up and go, she'd just start to get ready. She'd change her clothes and say 'let's go'. "We'd have to say, 'No Schapelle, you can't'."
“Schapelle was a strong minded person then, determined not to crumble and determined to prove her innocence. Now she’s like a timid little child who cowers when I scold her for doing silly things like climbing the water tower.”
“She’s always talking about being better off dead. I’m really concerned for her. She’s definitely not sane any more. She talks about “going down” which means down into a grave. She says she would be better off dead.”
“She has this thing about climbing the water tower all the time. She’s done it many times and I always have to go out and talk her down. She tries to refuse sometimes but always obeys me in the end – either willingly or forcefully. I just insist in a firm way until she gives in. She never defies me.”
"According to her cellmates she doesn't sleep at night," Kerobokan jail doctor Agung Hartawan said. "Sometimes she is blank. Sometimes she just hangs around the cell, sometimes she forgets about things. Sometimes she forgets to look after herself."
"On this occasion she was dishevelled, was not looking after herself properly and was paranoid, believing someone was spying on her through a hold in the ceiling of her jail cell"
"Schapelle Corby is so traumatised by her time in jail that she has lost all touch with reality "
HER CONDITION
Yes, she is traumatized. Yes, she is in and out of lucidity. Yes, she now has severe psychiatric and psychological conditions. Yes, she is seriously sick.
This is what they have done to her.
From being a totally healthy young woman, she desperately needs to be in a hospital in her home country of Australia, just to survive.
Yet she is still in the hell of her cell, slowly dying. Day by day, dying a torturous mentally agonizing death.
Whilst her government simply stand by and do nothing.....
